Bigots Do Not Belong in the Senate

Rand Paul, a candidate for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky obviously never saw Giant. He believes that business owners should be able to deny service to anyone, saying, "Private business people should be able to decide whether they want to serve black people, or gays, or any other minority group." His father, whom I'm sure taught him his bigoted views, was a member of Congress. This small-minded ideology needs to end, never having belonged in our government in the first place. Let's spread the word that this individual is just a new face on an old racist mindset.

Getting Away With Murder in Florida

A fourteen year old kid takes his grandmother's car for a joyride and gets probation. He's caught trespassing on school property and gets killed -- on video tape no less. His killers ultimately got away with murder, as well as the nurse who watched them beat a teenager to death and blame sickle cell anemia. The beating took thirty minutes for seven men to kill this teen while a nurse and whoever took the video pretended they weren't doing anything wrong, much like the courts have been doing. The sickle cell didn't make a video.

Today, federal officials decided this kid's civil rights were not violated. End of story. Perhaps, if the victim of this beating was the child of one of the federal officials it would not be "end of story". It would be a "different story".

Bigotry in the Bedroom

I saw a commercial today featuring an interracial couple engaging in pillow talk regarding their daughter considering a military career. I was suddenly a little girl racing to the kitchen to tell my mother that I had just seen something I had never seen before -- a black woman in a commercial. I confess that I am old enough to remember a much whiter world than the one in which we live today and how the common sight of people of color was not as prevalent as it finally is. It was not my doing anymore than it was my choice, but I am somehow embarrassed by it having been so accepted by so many for so long. I don't remember what was being advertised in that ad so many years ago and I may not remember today's couple was discussing anything as important as their child's future in years to come, but they were a black man in bed with a white woman and that smacks of bravery on the part of the people who casted that commercial. My daughter was in the room when it aired and unlike the little girl her mother was, she thought nothing of it. In the bigoted society in which we live, that fact alone makes me proud of the way I've raised my children, teaching them from birth that different is neither better nor worse -- only different. The commercial itself made me laugh to think of the racists who saw it and began screaming their racial epithets to fewer people than used to listen to them. Perhaps their screams were out of anger and hatred alone, but I like to think that it was also out of fear as they realized their way of thinking is finally on the way out.

Rush Limbaugh Charged with Treason!?!

Just one of my fantasies, and I have to assume that when any woman fantasizes about Rush Limbaugh, it has little to do with sex. Wishing Obama to fail is tantamount to wishing the economy worsens and while that does not seem possible if one reads the headlines, wishing it so is not what I would call patriotic. Idiotic? Yes. Patriotic? No. Why doesn't this conservative idiot just admit he is a racist and just can't come to terms with having a black President? His rant, with his maliciously imbecilic fan base cheering him on might make him feel important, but he is not and it makes little more sense than the fat girl drawing mustaches and horns on the cheerleaders in the yearbook. He won the election, Rush -- get over it!

While we're on the subject, I read last night that there is already an effort to impeach Obama. These geniuses, who undoubtedly thought Bush was doing a good job as I didn't see any of them joining in the many groups justifiably calling for him to be impeached for war crimes, are citing Obama's "obsession" with basketball, his Tonight Show appearance, and his talking of getting his daughters a puppy frivolous and useless wastes of his time and attention. Taking a nostalgic step back to their ancestors' racially challenged heyday when slaves jumped when they snapped their pathetic fingers, they say that Obama works for us and should only spend his time on our needs. Did they say that about Bush while he was busy lining his pockets and those of his family members at our expense and at the sacrifice of the lives of our children? No, I don't think they did.

As far as Obama and his plans to buy a puppy and knowing every simpleton in the market for a dog will run out and buy whatever breed he gets just so they can claim to have the presidential puppy of choice, I would love to see Obama set the nationwide standard, sending the wannabes and copycats out tripping on each other to the local shelter to rescue a pup in need of a loving home and family -- not a political one, just like the President.

Embarrass the Bigoted Idiots

Wasn't it the racist state of Georgia that sent a black teenager to prison for having consensual oral sex with another teenager? A girl that was having oral sex with just about everyone else in the room. Now they have a black man awaiting execution who has not been proven guilty, and I wonder what the difference is between this and an old fashioned lynching. Why can't the courts in these cases be accused of racism to the extent of effecting change? Signing petitions may or may not work, but unrelenting public ridicule puts the issue on the front page and the guilty parties along with it. Don't let them hide. Racism has existed long enough and will continue to exist as long as the practitioners are allowed to get away with it. If they are not intelligent enough to renounce it on their own, shame them out of it. Enough is enough.

Racism Rears it's Ugly Head

DNA has been championed, and rightfully so, in its proof-positive evidence showing the innocence of wrongfully imprisoned individuals, culminating in their release, some after many years. Science continues to extract the data that is found in DNA, learning much about many that will ultimately benefit the human race tremendously if allowed to run its course. Along the way, however, it's hit a glitch. It seems that scientific data shows that certain races and/or ethnicities are more or less likely to have or not have specific advantages or disadvantages and there are many individuals who feel this kind of information could be used to lend credence to the arguments of bigotry to the bigots themselves. Never before have these self-absorbed, bible thumping, inbred, racist, homophobic, hillbilly-bullies opened a science book in their lives and if they had and read scientific theories regarding homosexuality being physiological not choice, they would shake their fists at the stupidity of science while screaming indignantly at the nerve of what they know to be a falsity. But hint at a deficiency in the DNA of someone their parents told them to hate and it will be etched in stone and cause for ignorant celebration.

Despite the blissful bigotry the research will inspire, I hope science will forge ahead for the greater good to the benefit of mankind in the elimination of illness and birth defects, and the proliferation of justice.

Another Racist Denys Their Racism

Notice all the racial slurring celebrities who get caught doing what racists do best always expect the public to believe them when they say, "I'm not a racist"? Seinfeld's Michael Richards wasn't a racist when he took his stage routine to an all new low. Mel Gibson wasn't being anti-semitic during his drunken rant while being arrested for another stupid activity, driving while intoxicated. Imus wasn't being a racist when he ridiculed the Rutgers University women's basketball team anymore than CBS was when they weren't going to fire him for it until it started effecting their bottom line. Neither was Bill O'Reilly when he was so impressed by the staff and patrons at a Harlem restaurant when they acted surprisingly uncharacteristic to his way of thinking, causing him to say, "It was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. And there wasn't any kind of craziness at all." Nope, he wasn't anymore racist than the right-wingers who lined up to defend him, saying everyone offended by his comments were making mountains out of mole hills, trying to put words in O'Reilly's mouth. Absurd! There is no room in his mouth with his foot in there and us mole-hill-into-mountain-makers wouldn't think of it. Now Dog the Bounty Hunter isn't a racist because his slurring took place during a private phone call with a relative. Everybody knows that. Duh.

The rush limbaugh and ann coulter slugs need to fantasize about killing all the liberals because we are just too damned intelligent for the conservatives to make sense by comparison even to each other. Ever listen to one? Me either. I change the station as soon as one comes on the air before the stupid comes out of their mouths, but if I'm cooking, or driving, or my hands are wet, it takes me a few extra seconds to get to the radio and oops!...the stupid's out. It's always the same garbled non-sensical tripe they justify with more guns, less freedom, and praise jesus, but telling those lies to the idiots who believe them must pay very well, but I couldn't keep a straight face long enough to have pursued it as a career. Our military are exposing their racist tactics in Iraq, forbidding citizens in their own country that we invaded for no reason other than to steal their oil, that they aren't good enough to use the same toilet as our soldiers. While our soldiers may or may not feel the same way, it is their superiors that have pulled this from their racist rectums and they should be chastised for it and forced to change that policy immediately. Now this smacks of the same crap, no pun intended, that was allowed over here until the Civil Rights Movement took hold and made enough noise for it to count, although I hear this toilet coveting prejudice is still practiced in the South as they are not taught to respect their fellow man as emphatically as they are to believe in fairy tales about creationism. Apparently, some of these little boys grow up to be Generals.

There is always a handy, innocent reason for racism when the racists need one. They sound much more contrived than they used to sound and the purveyor of bigotry looks even more oafish while reciting their rehearsed speech then he or she used to, but the bigot is as the bigot does and in this particular case, the bathroom is the best place for them and the shit they are trying to pass off as reality. I think it's safe to assume that if the guy who came up with the "they might not understand western plumbing" theory was able to figure out the complexity of flushing the average john, so can anyone he determines to be his inferior. Whoosh!
