No Tears Shed For This Death

Mississippi Ku Klux Klansman James Ford Seale killed two black men, Henry Hezekiah Dee and Charles Eddie Moore in 1964, but did not go to prison despite his 1964 arrest with his accomplice, Charles Marcus Edwards,  until 2007.  The 1964 charges were dropped because local law enforcement officers were in collusion with the Klan, but the case was reopened in 2005.  Charles Marcus Edwards, being just as much of a coward as his murdering, racist partner gave up Seale and was granted immunity for the kidnapping and murder of these two teenagers.

While Edwards did not deserve immunity, in a perfect world, the racism that brought about the murder of these two young men would not exist.  Obviously, it is not a perfect world.  

Seale was 76 when he died yesterday.  His victims died when they were both 19.  I am never happy to hear about anyone's death, even someone so full of hate, but I am happy that Seale died in prison, serving his late, but well-earned three life sentence term after being convicted in 2007.  I am not sorry he is dead, but I am sorry he ever lived. 

 

Tear Down the Wall

The Supreme Court has done it again. They have done exactly as Bush told them to do and allowed him to put up a ridiculous 700 foot wall between the U.S. and Mexico as though that is going to solve any important problems and as if it is any different than the one that was torn down in Berlin. Bush has decided that we have the right to keep everyone out, because the Texas racist was probably told every day growing up that Mexicans were the enemy and "too bad there isn't a wall up to keep them out." He inflicts his other boyhood beliefs on the American people like giving our tax dollars to religious causes before all others because he believes in the fairy tales of the bible and it was probably the only book he ever tried to read. Why put up a wall? Too bad the natives in this country didn't try that when Columbus first came over with his rapists and murderers. Perhaps they would have been successful in keeping their country to themselves instead of being murdered by us after they helped us grow food and learn how to fight our enemies. Maybe they wouldn't be forced to live on reservations with high alcoholism and suicide rates. And after stealing this land from the people who were here before us, we are now putting up a wall to keep other people from coming here to raise their families, have more opportunity, get away from their own crime and poverty. In short, we do not want anyone coming over here acting like us. Mexico does not have the market cornered on people who want to immigrate to the U.S., but we do have illegal aliens from all over the world for all different reasons. We can't build walls everywhere to keep people out, nor should we. Perhaps, the state employees who process the paperwork for the immigrants to enter legally should skip a smoke break once in a while to keep the line moving smoothly and this administration should be impeached when they suggest ploys used by the Nazis to protect what they feel is theirs.

Pathetic State of the Union Address

Did I hear Dumbya right (no pun intended) in his pathetic State of the Union address last night when he said there was now going to be a very large amount of taxpayers' money allotted by the government to offer funding for children to attend non-public, faith-based schools? Is that why the godsuckers have spent so much time at the White House, despite Dumbya's denial that he has been influenced by the intimidating Anti-Semitic, sexist, homophobic, racist, religious right? Are these moronic assholes so desperate to get believers, and I'm sure the younger and more impressionable, the better; they sold this shit to our government? I guess Dumbya is as impressionable as the children they hope to convince of their fairy tales, because he not only bought it, he is paying for it with our money. Maybe that is why it says "in god we trust"? They know if they are intimidating enough with their bible-speak, they will get every last dollar we have and will not have to give up anything, "Just keep telling the suckers to have faith!" Good one, Dumbya. You won't take care of our children in this lifetime by signing a bill for their medical coverage or one for stem cell research, but you will take care of them in the next life by signing them up for an education rife with creationism they will not even have to disguise as science by calling it Intelligent Design. I'm sure "under god" will be in The Pledge they say there and if it offends any of the childrens' parents, tough.
