Parents Want Their Children to Miss Historic Speech

I'm having a hard time understanding why the same people who want "under god" in the Pledge and creationism disguised as science under the name"intelligent design" in the schools are having a problem with Obama telling kids to stay in school and work hard. Democrat or Republican, isn't that every parent's message to their own children? One might think a little support from the highest office in government chiming in with them wouldn't pose a problem.

I do understand that I would be upset if one of the Bush Boys tried to teach my children anything, but they have both been in the schools, George W. himself on 911 holding the book upside down, and no one complained. Reagan was there too, discussing taxes and how bad they were with students and I don't remember any uproar at the time. I haven't seen the paperwork on any of those visits, but I would assume that they were funded pretty much in the same way as Obama's would be and while the Republicans are okay with one of their party's Governors using tax dollars to leave the country to cheat on his wife without demanding he be fired, I guess I'm willing to split the bill with them to let Obama tell my kids that staying in school and work hard while there is the right thing to do, especially if becoming president is a goal. What are our taxes for if not to be used for our children's education, even in a round-about way?

Now, about that Governor using tax dollars for his trysts; why isn't it being questioned at least as much as this speech? Are the same people being coached by the Republicans to protest the Health Care Town Meetings the ones making noise about the speech? I'm would not be surprised to learn the coaching is being covered by the Republican National Committee. Would you?

Of Course the DC Madam Killed Herself...

and so did Marilyn Monroe and Vince Foster. Ken Lay is dead. Oswald killed Kennedy with one bullet. Bobby Kennedy, John Lennon, Congressman Leo Ryan, Martin Luther King, and President Reagan were shot by the people the media told us shot them the way they told us for the reasons we were told. Like the school bully who farted in class says, "Whoever smelt it dealt it", when he's accused, if we disagree with any of it, we must be conspiracy theorists. There, that clears it all up.

Whether she committed suicide or not, where is the information the DC Madam had been threatening to disclose? It would seem those in fear of having their names made public are in a more precarious position now than before Deborah Jeane Palfrey died, unless that information permanently disappeared at the time of her death.

Rove Slams Liberal Blogs

Ooh, we got poor Karl's boxers in a knot. Apparently, we're angry and dishonest. Oh, Karl, let me remember that old adage. Was it Let he who lives in glass administrations be the first hypocrite to cast the first slur? Or maybe Let he who backed the wrong horse be the first to blame the opposition for being right...or is that left? I know, it's Let he who smelt it dealt it. Rove's a big boy and he is an honor student of Be the First to Accuse 101, so we're not hurting his feelings or even pissing him off. He is just doing what he does best and I sometimes find myself wishing he was a Democrat. Does anyone really think we would have heard the name Monica Lewinski if Rove had been in Clinton's corner? Would Nixon have resigned if Rove was there for President Paranoia? Reagan didn't need Rove during Iran-Contra as his presidency saw the "be sly, lie and deny" attitude in its infancy alongside then Vice-President Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld, the team who later perfected it for future use. Rove is a god. No one respects him more than I for what he has accomplished with this dishonest administration. Whatever their crimes are, and I suspect there are many, they owe Rove their thanks because without him, they would be more than blog fodder. They would be history in the worst sense of the word.

Now Why Didn't Nixon Think of That?

Blackwater is only the latest Bush affiliate to get away with murder...literally! Every time this administration seriously mucks things up, they are granted immunity from prosecution, starting with Bush. Oh yeah, he took care of himself first, knowing he was continually breaking the law. Come on people. Demand impeachment! Let's get rid of this criminal while we still have a country worth fighting for -- and I don't mean in Iraq or Iran.

I remember during the Iran-Contra scandal my father once commenting that Nixon would have gotten away with Watergate had he adopted the "I know you are, but what am I?" attitude Reagan used with anyone who questioned him. It has been perfected through practice, practice, practice and if Congress were as crooked and cowardly in 1973 as it is now, Nixon would have finished out his term as president like the criminal who is doing it now. Only a handful of members from each party in Congress stand up to this administration and are admonished for doing so by the president and the mouthpieces who surround him. The press is all but non-existent and those who pose as journalists are either incompetent partisan plants known as pundits used by the white house to defend its numerous misdeeds or are employees of various agencies pretending to be reporters to fool the public into thinking the president is doing right by the American people. .
